A New Member on the T+T Team: Maddie

My Story…

I fell into this amazing world of wedding planning completely by accident! It will always be something I am infinitely thankful for because it has already brought me so many amazing opportunities and the absolute best mentor I could have ever asked for (shoutout to Katie for being the bomb.com).

I had just moved to the Northern VA area and was working in a little boutique in Old Towne Alexandria. I had been living down in Virginia Beach while I went to school at Old Dominion University the last few years (which I LOVED) and wasn’t sure what I was going to do yet. More school? Big girl job? Stay-at-home dog mom? I hadn’t quite found the answer yet!

Enter Katie who was working at the same boutique for extra money for her own wedding (I’m telling you guys, Katie hustles! She works hard and kicks butt!) and instantly we clicked.

Helping with one wedding turned into the equivalent of a whirlwind romance with the wedding industry. Here I am coming up on 11 months since I met Katie and it has already been such an amazing adventure! In addition to helping with weddings, I have the privilege of writing most of the blogs here at T+T!

Side note, the first PG-13 movie I ever saw in theaters was the Wedding Planner with JLo and regardless of any inaccuracies it is still one of my favorites! I always thought it looked like a dream job but it is sooo much more than I could have ever dreamt up!!

Fun Facts…

I have a HUGE obsession with the Hallmark Channel and watch it enough to drive my boyfriend crazy. I believe mornings are for coffee and evenings are for wine! Brunch is my favorite meal of the day! And so far there has not been a wedding I’ve attended that hasn’t at least made me tear up or cry.

If you can’t tell already I am truly a romantic and I believe in fairytale love, dreams coming true, and that everything happens for a reason!

I am so excited for all the amazing things we have planned over here at Tilly + Teal and can’t wait to them share with you all!
